The short answerFarela works with accounts you own. Claims and eligibility go through your own Claim.MD clearinghouse account, visits come from your Google Calendar, and cash payments run through your own Stripe account.
Farela is built around accounts you already own, so your billing never depends on
ours. Here is how each connection works and where to start.
Claim.MD: eligibility, claims and ERAs
Claim.MD is the clearinghouse most independent dietitians we work with use. You
open your own account, enroll with your payers there, and paste your API key into
Farela. From then on:
Eligibility runs through your Claim.MD account before the visit.
Claims are drafted from the visit note and sent to Claim.MD when you press Submit.
Rejections and ERAs come back to your account, and payments show up in Revenue.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own clearinghouse account to bill insurance with Farela?
Yes. Farela connects to your own Claim.MD account with its API key. Claims go out under your practice and your payer enrollments, and ERAs come back to your account. You can use Farela's free charting without a clearinghouse and add Claim.MD when you start billing.
Does Farela submit claims without me?
No. Farela drafts the claim from the visit note — codes, units, diagnoses, place of service — and you review it and press Submit. It then goes to Claim.MD through your account.
Can I keep using Google Calendar?
Yes. Farela reads your Google Calendar so your scheduled visits show up in the agenda, ready to start.
A free EHR that records the session, writes the note from it, and builds the claim
you submit. Billing is 3.9% of what an insurer pays, plus your own Claim.MD plan.
